The inspiration that sparked this project was the AGS trip my sophomore year, when we visited Costa Rica. The objective was to think of a take action project that we could start back home inspired by what we saw and what we learned in Costa Rica. Our TGPLAN groups were from the people that we were in groups with in Costa Rica, and my partners were Justin Ayala, Xan Bauer, and Tiffany Palacios. For our project, we gained inspiration from Earth University and wanted our service project to be "green" like their campus. We wanted to focus on Austin Agricultural Sustainability which is where Austin Sustainable Agricultural Partners (ASAP) was born. Our goal for the sustainability project was to help out the Austin High Garden Club so that the school could use more of what the Garden was producing more frequently. We bought a portable greenhouse for the project and put it all up together and put plants inside of it and grew plants inside of it as well as frequently helped the Austin High Garden Club on Friday mornings. We wanted to make a difference in the amount of yield that the garden club was making so that Austin High could use more of the produce in the cafeteria more often.
